You’ll Be Accountable For:

  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations
  • Preparation of project construction details, technical plans and annotations. 
  • Maintaining files and organizing drawings and graphic standards
  • Develop sketches into complex construction documents
  • Conceptualize a full set of plans and coordinate their completion in a timely way

Your Fantastic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR long-term (15 years+) work experience
  • 3-7+ years relevant work experience in California landscape or architectural consulting practices
  • You’re a professional seeking a career and not just a job
  • You’re a firecracker with AutoCAD 2014 and/or REVIT. SketchUp skills preferred
  • You’re proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • You’re a life-long learner and writer and can communicate with professionals and clients
  • You’re detail oriented and love to solve problems
  • You’re a wizard in irrigation design, know plants, a grading plan master, and can detail a building wall.

Open Position — Sr. Level Landscape Architect

Firm: Foothill Associates

The Position: Senior-Level Landscape Architect
Foothill Associates is accepting applications for a talented senior-level individual with a degree in landscape architecture and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the profession. A degree in landscape architecture, a landscape architecture license, MS Office, and current AutoCAD experience are required. QSD/QSP certification or ISA Arborist certification is a plus. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of California native and drought tolerant plants, irrigation design, and public space design requirements. The candidate must be proficient in preparing proposals, comfortable in leading competitive marketing efforts and interviews with local agencies and be familiar with the Sacramento area market. Experience in mitigation planning, ecological restoration, and/or park and recreation master planning are a plus. Knowledge of computer and hand rendering, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling tools, and natural sciences are also desirable. Foothill Associates offers Paid Leave (PL), 401K Retirement Plan, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Flex Spending Plan.

Open Position — Landscape Designer

The Position:

The HLA Group, Landscape Architects & Planners Inc. is seeking a creative, motivated and enthusiastic Landscape Designer to share in our passion for design and who are committed to creating innovative solutions for livable environments.  We are a highly collaborative studio-based firm focusing on a variety of project types including community design, parks/recreation educational facilities, urban design and residential developments.  Candidates should have 1 to 4 years of relevant professional experience, including a proficiency in landscape design and construction documentation as well as strong communication/organizational skills.  Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010, Word, Excel, Photoshop, SketchUp and Microsoft Office applications is required.  The successful candidate shall possess a strong work ethic, foster a high degree of self-motivation and demonstrate leadership in their day-to-day office activities.  An undergraduate degree in landscape architecture is required.

From conceptual design drawings and construction documents to community workshops and client coordination, you will be exposed to the full breadth of landscape architecture while working in our educationally oriented studio environment.  

What We Are Looking For:

Ideal candidates will have right combination of personal, professional, technical and communications skills coupled with a strong desire to advance in the profession.  Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn to advance their own career and to contribute to the advancement of the firm, as well as possess a solid understanding of design and construction document preparation.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Suite

Open Position — Project Manager

Firm: Callander Associates

Position:

Project Manager’s must successfully manage all aspects of a project including design, project scheduling, resource allocation, staff and subconsultant oversight, budget management, client meetings and presentations. This position requires familiarity with all phases of project development from master planning through construction administration. Important skills include the ability to maintain strong client relationships, meet project financial goals and ensure the project team is providing a high level of service. We will work alongside as you build upon your skills to help you grow within the firm and ensure you become an effective Project Manager.  

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Skilled in effective use of supervisor’s time
  • Skilled in effective use of support staffs’ time
  • Ability to assess challenges and provide recommendations
  • Ability to operate independently as circumstances dictate (attend meetings, participate in teleconferences, coordinate with other design professionals, etc.)
  • Experienced in scheduling competing interests and effective utilization of scheduling software (Microsoft Project or equal)  
  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch Up skills a plus 
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Licensed in the State of California or actively engaged in obtaining licensure
  • 5 years of progressively greater responsibility acquired while employed by a licensed Landscape Architect with a minimum of 2 years acting in the role of a project manager
