Landscape Architecture Designer
LPAS Architecture + Design is looking for a passionate Designer to help lead the design on large-scale landscape architecture projects by developing and presenting conceptual and schematic designs for our projects. Podium courtyard design experience is highly desirable.

The ICF Restoration Team is currently seeking a Restoration Designer for our Pacific Northwest Branch. ICF’s PNW Branch Restoration Team provides technical analyses and designs stream restoration and wetland mitigation projects throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. The main PNW Branch offices are located in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR and these offices would be the preferred location for the selected candidate’s home office. However, depending on the candidate’s experience, and at the request of the candidate, the home office could be ICF’s Sacramento, CA office. The Restoration Designer will perform a hands-on role in the design and implementation of aquatic and riparian habitat restoration and wetland mitigation projects.
Bachelor's Degree in any field of study related to Stream and Aquatic Habitat Restoration. Including but not limited to Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geomorphology, Landscape Architecture, Land Surveying, and Natural Resource Ecology.
Experience using AutoCAD or Microstation to draft construction plan sheets (either 1 year professional work or 1 year of college level courses).
Second Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in any field of study related to Stream and Aquatic Habitat Restoration processes or fish biology.
Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and/or using numerical models.
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation/In-Roads.
Experience using ArcGIS.

As a Senior Restoration Practitioner with ICF, you will have a first-hand role in the pursuit and development of new project work, as well as the design and implementation of high-quality river, estuary, wetland, and upland focused projects that are part of the expanding ICF project portfolio. Our restoration team targets projects that are intended to conserve, mitigate, restore or preserve critical habitats. These efforts are most often required to satisfy permitting requirements associated with infrastructure operation, improvement, and development projects. The Senior Restoration Practitioner will apply their career experience, network, and industry expertise in the oversight and mentorship of the larger sub-teams that are assigned to a particular project. Typical project work requires familiarity with watersheds, estuaries and river systems. Technical analyses include evaluation of basin hydrology, channel and floodplain hydraulics, soil characteristic, large woody material structures, bank stabilization measures, channel geometry, and roadway crossing structures that restore stream, estuary, wetland habitat, and upland habitat. The ICF restoration team has always included a diverse range of expertise and is offering this position to find a candidate that knows the restoration market, and who is ready to add their energy to our team of engineers, hydrologists, landscape architects, geomorphologist, biologists, wetland scientists, permit specialists, and environmental project managers. The Senior Restoration Practitioner will provide technical analyses and design project elements as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing habitat preservation and restoration planning, design, mitigation and permitting services to a variety of clients. Our clients primarily include federal agencies, state, and local governments, Tribes, and non-profit organizations. Project roles may include all or some of the full suite of restoration services that ICF offers (e.g., planning, conceptual design, detailed design, permitting document preparation, construction assistance, and performance monitoring).
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: Civil Environmental or Engineering, Ecology/Biology, Geology, Geomorphology, Hydrology or Landscape Architecture.
Minimum of 10 years of experience leading projects or programs that delivered the following one of or some combination of the following services for the benefit of ecological uplift in the environment: Conservation, Mitigation, Enhancement, Restoration or Preservation.
In addition to education listed in Basic Qualifications, Bachelor or Master's Degree in any field of study related to natural processes and/or fish and wildlife ecology, biology, or botany.
Experience designing habitat restoration projects in Washington, Oregon, or California.
Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using numerical models.
Experience performing target species predictive response or life cycle modeling.
Experience in conducting construction oversight/monitoring.
Experience with habitat vegetation plan design, layout, monitoring, establishment techniques and success criteria.
